Title: Risby Hall
Item Name: Country House

The house shown in a drawing of c. 1700 is a neat symmetrical building of seven bays, of two storeys with attics with formal gardens in front. Major alterations to the grounds were carried out c. 1770. The house was apparently destroyed by fire in the late 1770s, rebuiilt, and again destroyed by fire c. 1784. Impressive garden earthworks in the form of terraces, associated with the earlier house, survive, as does a late 18th-century folly near the lake.
