Item Name: Country House


A symmetrical red-brick house with stone dressings and hipped slate roof, five bays wide and three bays deep. Two storeys with basement and attics. The architects & craftsmen are not known, but possibly the work of John Etty of York. An elaborately carved overmantel attributed to Etty was apparently brought from a house in York in the 18th century.
