Description:

Small 17th-century manor house in the "artisan mannerist" style. Built of red brick with decorative blue-black brick diaper work. Shaped end gables. Two-storey entrance porch with pilasters topped with a broken segmental pediment. Mid 19th-century wings to left and right, with similar detail. Later two-storey bay windows. Architects & Craftsmen: Not known, but possibly the work of the artisan-architect William Catlyn of Hull (1628-1709) who was responsible for several houses in a similar style.
