Two copper tokens. Obverse: male portrait facing left. Legend 'T.Hardy, 1794. Tried for High Treason'. Thomas Hardy was the founder of the London Corresponding Society, which aimed to get the British parliament reformed. Along with John Thelwall and John Horne Tooke, Hardy was put on trial for treason in 1794, but was acquitted. This medal/token was produced to commemorate the trial.
