Eighteen robes, navy/purple, with ermine trim on sleeves, as worn by the Aldermen of E.Y.B.C. The robes were supposedly presented to Bridlington Borough Council in 1903 by a Mr. Field, who had a business in Hull, but lived in Bridlington. He operated a grocery and provisions store and was well-known for his delicatessen. The blue robes were worn by Chairmen of the various sub commitees and by any other councillors who wished to wear one. From Bridlington Town Hall.
