Piece of Serpentine, a secondary mineral found in igneous rocks. Usually greenish colour, smooth (feels greasy). This specimen was found on the Lizard peninsula, Cornwall, in 1963. Part of the T.H. Riley collection, transferred from Doncaster Museum in 1963.
