Description:

Quantity of flint flakes, animal bone and stone fragments mostly quartz/quartzite pebbles), some burnt. Excavation: Willerby Wold Long Barrow (various trenches, TA 029 761). Excavated by Terry Manby in 1958-60, the roughly trapezoidal timber structure had a timber post facade at the east end and was covered with an earth/chalk mound. Radio carbon dated to around 3000BC.
