Title: Four horsemen plaque
Item Name: Religion
Maker: Dupon, J.

Steel art medal with brass coating. Hand emerging from the clouds, supporting two children; a coiled snake beneath and monogram (M.A.?) in circle. Legend - TUTI QUOS SERVAT (those he looks after are safe). Reverse: The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse - War, Famine, Pestilence & Death - with two birds (vultures?) and a skeleton wearing a wreath. Legend beneath - SIC TRANSIT GLORIA MUNDI (thus passes the glory of the world). Above the clouds, an all seeing eye in a triangle - suggesting this medal may have a Masonic connection. Inscribed ' Josue Dupon' [from Belgium]. The design is perhaps meant to suggest the transience and futility of human life, compared to the glories of Heaven.
