Description:

Wooden block, copper plate with design of photograph of Goole Grammar School with scrolled framework, incorporating school emblem and motto, and legend 'The Viking'. Used to print first issue of the Goole Grammar School magazine (June 1927) and was used until 1941, when the wartime paper shortage led to a reduction in size of the magazine and subsequent redesign of the cover. Designed by Charles W Cobbett, Art Master at the Grammar School at this time.
