Assorted B&W photographs and postcards of Coastguard and Lifeboat Officers in Bridlington, various dates, some card mounted. Photograph 964.96a, notes on the use of rescue equipment (hawser drill). Photograph 964.96b shows a Coastguard exercise at Sewerby in 1934, taken by Alfred Hudson of North Street, Bridlington. Photograph 964.96c shows the Coastguard at Speeton when the steam trawler 'Skegness' was wrecked. Photograph 964.96d shows the Bridlington Coastguards in the 1930s. Photograph 964.96e shows Bridlington Coastguard in 1899. Photograph 964.96f is the same as the previous photograph, but with more people visible at the horse's head. Photograph 964.96g shows members of the Coastguard taken by J.W. Shores based in Bridlington Quay. Photograph 964.96h is a photograph of Kit Brown and his lifeboat crew dated c1893, after the award of gallantry medals. The key to this photograph identifies them as follows: - R. Purvis, C. Brown, F. Brown. Front row - J. Usher, T. Clarke. It also includes an adapted version of Tennyson's poem about the charge of the Light Brigade lauding the achievements of the crew.
