Description:

Model of the trawler SS Salisbury. Black and red hull, white deck, plain wood and black cabins, yellow and black funnel, brown wood and glass case. Engraved on plaque - name and ship builder, type of vessel and measurements, name of proposed owners: "SS Lord Salisbury, built by Cochrane & Sons, Selby for the Yorkshire Steam Fishing Co. Ltd., Hull. Length BP 133' 4", Breadth Extreme 23' 0", Depth moulded 12' 9". Scale 1/4"=1 foot. The vessel was launched on June 29th 1911 and was presumably requisitioned by the Admiralty in the First World War, as she is listed as being struck by a mine and lost of Eros Island, near Salonika, whilst serving as a minesweeper.
