Two examples of Atlantic Auger shells (Terebra Dislocata), from the south east U.S.A. White and cream. Part of the Pamplin shell collection. Auger shells are named after a type of boring tool. They are long and slender, mostly found on tropcal beaches, where they dig themselves into the sand.
