Description:

Half model of the steam ship "Faxfleet", showing the starboard side. The hull is painted black above the waterline and puce below the waterline. The funnel has red and black horizontal stripes. There is a painted (ivory?) plaque: "SS Faxfleet, dimens. 195' 0" x 14' 3" MD. 18' 3" QD. Built by John Fullerton & Co., Paisley." The vessel was owned by the Goole Steam Shipping Co. from 1916 to about 1933 and is recorded in the Lloys shipping register up to 1953. A printed/wax crayon billboard, pasted to the backboard, gives the maker's instructions for fixing the case to the wall (the rest of the case was later removed and a perspex box substituted). 1:48 scale. With mirrored back.
